An ode to drinking coffee.

Life and coffee

Sometimes life is like accidentally spilling a cup of coffee on your pants. It happens quickly, often leaves stains, but in the end, you still have an unexpected story to tell. I mean, who has ever heard an epic saga about perfectly ironed pants? No one, exactly! A little unexpected mishap (or drama) is just part of life.

Life and the recipe

Life is like an improvised cooking show where you cook without recipes and hope that it tastes good in the end. Sometimes you have to add a few bold spices, throw a little risk into the pot, and see how the flavor develops. If you never take a chance, you'll never know if chocolate and garlic can actually go together—in life as well as in the kitchen. (In the end, however, both ingredients come together and so begins the journey of togetherness).

Emotions and the navigation system

Following your feelings is like going on a road trip without a GPS—you never know exactly where you'll end up, but there will definitely be adventure. Sometimes your feelings will lead you through winding alleys of excitement, and sometimes they'll lead you into a roundabout of confusion. But hey, even if you drive around in circles a few times, you'll still experience more than someone who stubbornly stays on the highway of predictability and doesn't question, think ahead, or consciously decide against one turn and for another route.

What do feelings, life, drinking coffee, and cooking without a recipe have in common?

Allow life to write spontaneous stories for you, and follow your feelings as if they were the latest attraction at an amusement park. Who knows, you may end up realizing that the risks, the stains, and the unplanned detours were exactly what made your story so compelling. And the next time you spill coffee on your pants—well, just turn the stains into a work of art and call it:
