Words move. Stories carry.

In my two podcasts, I share thoughts, experiences, and insights about language, inner worlds, and life between the lines. Personal, calm, genuine. "Von Pinguinen und Drachen" ( Of Penguins and Dragons) takes a tongue-in-cheek look at clichés, role models, and gender issues—between literature, interviews, and spontaneous street conversations. In "Heimat und..." (Home and... ), I focus on stories about home, identity, and change—in conversations with exciting guests from the worlds of art and culture.

Of Penguins and Dragons

Penguins are scatterbrained, funny, and extroverted. After all, they waddle around on ice floes with their fellow penguins all day long. Dragons are strong, smart, and introverted. Why else would they sit around alone in caves all the time? Clichés and stereotypes are everywhere. Especially in novels and literary texts. Carsten and Jo want to find out more about this issue in their podcast. "Von Pinguinen & Drachen" (Of Penguins & Dragons) is a literary podcast about gender studies and differences between the sexes that doesn't always take itself too seriously. Interviews with professors and authors, spontaneous conversations on the street, and interactive games result in a colorful mishmash of prejudices, opinions, and anecdotes.

What does it mean when you want or have to leave your home behind? Carsten explores these and many other questions in more detail throughout the podcast, with interesting and exciting interview partners from the creative and art sectors.
